Update:
Beltre will have surgery within the next week to remove bone chips from his left shoulder, the Tacoma News Tribune reports. Saturday will be his last game.

Recommendation:
He will need about 6-8 weeks to recuperate from the procedure, so he could possible return in the second half. The chips are in his non-throwing shoulder, so it may have less bearing on him signing a contract as a free agent this offseason. Jose Lopez is the likely candidate to take over at third.
