Aramis Ramirez: Activation Pushed Back -
6/23/2010 1:19:34 AM
Update:
The Cubs are pushing Ramirez's activation from the disabled list to the weekend to allow him a few more days to get comfortable with a change he made to his grip to keep pressure of his injured left hand, the
Chicago Sun-Times reports.
''I'll be able to play, but I don't want to go out there and not have a good swing,'' said Ramirez.
Recommendation:
Ramirez has spent the last week getting used to a new grip in which he drops his left thumb across his middle-finger knuckle instead of leaving it on top of the fist, alleviating the pressure from the top hand that caused a deep bruise and continued swelling near the base of his thumb. He could be back as early as Friday.
