Update:
Ward was taken to hospital after his leg was cut by a skate in the first period of Saturday's game against Columbus, reports the Associated Press.

Recommendation:
Ward stretched to make a save and was nicked by a skate. A few drops of blood hit the ice as he was helped off the ice. More as it becomes available.
