Update:
Delgado (hip) agreed to a minor league deal with the Red Sox on Saturday, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.

Recommendation:
If Delgado is not in the majors by September 1, he is able to void the deal and again become a free agent. We won't know about the status of Delgado's hip until he actually gets some game action, but the opportunity is there to split time with Mike Lowell at first base if Delgado proves healthy. Keep in mind that his last major league at-bat came in May 2009.
