Stafford suffered a lower-body injury late in the first period during Friday's overtime loss to Boston and didn't return. "He's day-to-day. He's got a bone bruise," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff told The Buffalo News. "We got him looked at, and he could be back by [tonight], he could be Wednesday. It shouldn't be too long. It was just too painful to play."

Recommendation:
The Sabres are right back at it Saturday in Ottawa. While Stafford may play, his nine points in 18 games is mediocre enough that you'd probably want to look for a healthier option with a heavy NHL slate.
