Jose Reyes: (Hamstring) Runs Without Pain Monday -
2/2/2010 7:42:11 AM
Update:
Reyes, who had offseason surgery after missing the final 4 1/2 months of last season because of a hamstring injury, ran five 90-foot sprints as part of his workout Monday and said afterward that he had "no pain in his right leg,"
NY Newsday reports. "I'm happy because I'm able to do what I do, running without any problem, without pain," Reyes told SNY-TV. "Before I got the surgery, I always had some pain there, but now I'm free to run, so that's made me feel very happy."
Recommendation:
Reyes has been running at 100 percent the past two weeks and believes he will no doubt be ready by Opening Day. This news sounds great in February, but we will need to see how Reyes feels throughout spring training and then closer to the start of the regular season. Regardless, this is a strong positive for Reyes' prospects this year.
