Update:
Versteeg and Bill Sweatt have been traded to the Maple Leafs in a swap that will send Viktor Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis to the Blackhawks, James Mirtle of the Toronto Globe & Mail reports.

Recommendation:
Chicago had to make another deal to clear space under the salary cap, so Versteeg was deemed expendable. With the move to Toronto, he should get more ice time as a regular top-six forward at even strength and as part of the Leafs' top power-play unit.
