McClellan is probably the top contender for the fifth spot in the rotation, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch speculates.

Recommendation:
After the Cardinals picked up Rich Hill in January, general manager John Mozeliak insisted that he wouldn't be picking up any starting pitchers until well into camp, indicating that McClellan or Hill are likely the frontrunners for the spot. Given Hill's struggles of the last few years, McClellan will have the inside track, but Jaime Garcia, Mitch Boggs, and Blake Hawksworth are all contending for the spot as well.
