Ibanez will undergo surgery Monday to repair a sports hernia, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

Recommendation:
Ibanez has been playing hurt since he came off the disabled list during the summer, which may have a lot to do with the pronounced difference in his half-season split stats. No timetable was announced for Ibanez's return, but expect him to be healthy by the time spring training begins.
