Jonah Bayliss

Despite backing from former manager Jim Tracy, Bayliss flopped like a whale in 2007. He failed to secure a meaningful bullpen spot by posting an 8.36 ERA in 37.2 innings with the Pirates. He allowed a whopping eight home runs while opposing batters hit .323 against him. With the Bucs in transition, Bayliss could get another shot in 2008, especially if Pittsburgh deals some of the arms ahead of him. He saved 23 games for Triple-A Indianapolis in 2005 but will have to regain the trust of the coaching staff in Pittsburgh before he earns a place of prominence in the Pirates' pen.
