Cameron has signed a minor league deal with the Giants including an invitation to spring training.
ANALYSIS
In 11 relief appearances for the A's last season, Cameron had a 3.44 ERA and 15:6 K:BB ratio. He's been useful in limited big league opportunities, so there's a chance he'll stick with San Francisco and work in middle relief.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2006
Cameron stuck with the Padres for all of 2007, but it wasn't entirely because of his performance. As a Rule 5 pick, he had to stay on the Padres' 25-man roster all season or else he would have been offered back to the Twins. Cameron showed flashes of brilliance, especially before the All-Star break, when he posted a microscopic 0.31 ERA, albeit in a lot of non-pressure situations. Opposing teams caught on to him during the second half, boosting his season ERA to 2.79. Cameron walked 36 batters in 58 innings -- way too many for a finesse pitcher. The Padres have the option of sending Cameron to the minors in 2008 and they will probably take it.
Cameron could make the Padres' major league roster as a middle reliever. He throws strikes and has an effective cutter, although he does not possess blazing velocity. He went 6-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 40 games for Triple-A Rochester in 2006. Cameron struck out 65 in 66 1/3 innings.
Cameron might make the Padres' major league roster as a middle reliever, but he will face stiff competition during spring training. He has a good cutter and struck out 65 batters in 66 1/3 innings at Triple-A in 2006. Cameron does not possess blazing velocity and will be 27 when spring training rolls around, so he is not a top prospect.
