2012

Thanks to late-season injuries in the middle infield, Field skipped Triple-A and received a 16-game taste of the big leagues down the stretch. While he was overmatched, it's too soon to write him off completely given his performance at High-A and Double-A over the last two seasons. Field offers a bit of pop (32 homers over 1,087 plate appearances since 2010) and can steal a few bases as well, but he's clearly blocked by Troy Tulowitzki in Denver. Look for him to spend most of 2012 at Colorado Springs where another strong offensive showing should follow. The Rockies still haven't found a long-term option at second base, which may ultimately be Field's destiny.
