Florimon earned a cup of coffee after a decent year at Triple-A in 2011. He showed the ability to get on base consistently in Double-A, recording a .344 on-base percentage, but he hasn't shown enough contact or hit for enough power to back it up with much. Expect the 25-year-old to get a shot at Triple-A Rochester to open 2012 after the Twins claimed him off waivers in December.
2011
Florimon has spent more than a full season at High-A Frederick, showing enough with the bat (.275/.345/.426) to where the Orioles need to be patient with him at Double-A. His limited exposure to advanced pitching hasn't gone well, but 158 at-bats can't be considered a large enough sample size to completely write him off. Unfortunately, the ceiling here appears to be that of a utility player should he ever hit enough to advance to the big league level.
