2013
There was no outlook written for Gary Majewski.
2009
Majewski never fully recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered before his 2006 trade to the Reds. The Phillies brought him aboard with an invitation to spring training, but he'll need a good showing to go north with the club and he's not guaranteed a spot on the 40-man roster.
2008
Since coming over to the Reds from the Nats, Majewski has allowed 73 hits in 38 innings. Much of that can be attributed to the shoulder injury that ended his 2006 season and was the subject of a grievance that the Reds filed against the Nats. Nonetheless, Majewski has been a bust at filling the role for which he was acquired, and the Reds have had to scramble elsewhere to secure their seventh- and eight-inning roles. Now that Francisco Cordero is onboard, Majewski not only won't work in a set-up capacity, but might not even make the Opening Day roster.
2007
Ah, the power of the Internet. After their heinous trade for Majewski in July, the Reds were shocked, shocked (!) that he had some lingering shoulder problems. All they had to do to know about the shoulder tendinitis was do a quick Google search or peruse our update database to see that he’d suffered from it since at least May. Perhaps the grievance that they've filed is their way of covering up after making a bad trade—after all, Majewski was never that good in the first place. His strikeout rate has always been pretty low, and he walks too many hitters to go along with that strikeout rate. Even in the Reds' shaky bullpen, he has little chance of closing.
2006
Despite lackluster strikeout and walk rates, Majewski put up some good surface numbers in 2005, and will enter camp firmly set in a middle relief role with Washington. He's not the kind of guy you want to spend more than a dollar on, however.
2005
Majewski allowed a lot of hits in the Expos system after being acquired from the White Sox, but that's not something he's done in the past so it can be written off as a fluke (unless you're a DIPS hardliner, in which case it's all a fluke). He should enter the spring fighting for a spot at the back of the bullpen.
2003
