Brian A. Rogers

Rogers was designated for assignment in December 2007. He never saw the light of day in Pittsburgh after giving up consecutive homers to the Reds in one of his three pitching appearances for the Pirates. Rogers has a plus curve ball but little else to go with it. The 25-year-old righty has put up a couple of decent seasons at the Triple-A level - he posted a 3.02 ERA in 65 innings for Indianapolis - but continues to struggle with command (32 walks). He's in danger of becoming a Four-A pitcher at this point in his career, good enough to succeed at the highest level of the minors but not quite good enough for the show.
