John Raynor

Raynor, a ninth-round pick as a college senior in 2006, made it onto the prospect radar with some big numbers at Low-A last season. His speed and batting eye definitely seem for real, and he's capable of handling center field defensively, but his power could dwindle as he moves up the ladder and starts playing against kids closer to his own age. The Marlins' acquisition of Cameron Maybin also blocked his easiest path to the majors. If he clears the Double-A hurdle as easily as he cleared the full-season hurdle he should probably be considered one of the top leadoff prospects in the minors, but don't call him the next Lenny Dykstra just yet.
