2009
McCrory has had a couple of decent seasons in the Orioles' system, but he was horrendous in his September callup and not much better in the Arizona Fall League. McCrory could figure into the bullpen mix, but he has no shot at closing.
2008
McCrory might get a little bit of attention this spring if the Orioles haven't yet resolved their closer dilemma for 2008, given his strikeout rate and usage as a closer in the minors last year. Be wary of relying upon him for much, however - even ignoring the usual caveats about trusting minor league closers for a second, McCrory's walk rates are too high to sustain success against advanced competition.
