2012
Tosoni got a trial in the Twins outfield last season for several stretches amid Minnesota's many injuries, but struggled by hitting just .203/.275/.343. He'd shown decent power and good on-base skills in the minors before a shoulder injury wrecked his 2010 season. He proved he was healthy in 2011, but showed few of those traits in the majors or even Triple-A. He'll compete for a reserve outfield role this spring, but likely needs to spend significant time at Triple-A to prove he deserves another shot at the majors.
2011
Last year was a lost season for Tosoni as he played just 52 games before needing shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. He's shown decent power and good on-base skills, but has struggled against left-handed pitching (just a .670 OPS vs. lefties in 2010). If he proves he's healthy, he could be in the mix to be a reserve in the majors at some point in 2011.
2010
Tosoni showed surprising power last season at Double-A (15 homers) while continuing to draw walks at a good rate. He strikes out too much (95 K in 425 AB) and struggles against left-handed pitching (.587 OPS vs lefties last season), which will limit his upside if he reaches the majors. He'll likely begin next season at Triple-A and could get called up as a reserve outfielder late in 2010.
