2013
There was no outlook written for Ramon Troncoso.
2011
After posting a 2.73 ERA in 82 big league innings the year before, Troncoso split 2010 between Triple-A and the big leagues in 2010. His regression was somewhat predictable given his mediocre 2009 peripherals (6.0 K/9IP, 3.7 BB/9IP), and after a 4.33 ERA for the Dodgers in 54 innings, he's likely to enter 2011 having to battle for a roster spot during spring training.
2010
Troncoso improved upon last season's 4.26 ERA, recording six saves with a 2.72 ERA and 55:34 K:BB in 82.2 innings. The 1.415 WHIP leaves him fourth in line (at best) for saves in the current incarnation of the Dodger relief corps, but his ability to generate ground balls (1.79 G/F) and avoid the home run (just three in 2009) leaves him a highly valuable middle reliever.
2009
Troncoso emerged as a viable relief option for the Dodgers, posting a 4.26 ERA in 38 innings in two stints with the club in 2008. Most encouragingly, Troncoso struck out 38 while surrendering 12 walks and generating more than three times as many groundballs as flyballs. He won't be a closer any time soon, but Troncoso should enter camp as a favorite for one of the club's six or seven bullpen jobs.
2008
Troncoso was added to the 40-man roster this offseason on the heels of a 10-4, 2.42 ERA season split between High-A and Double-A. As a soon-to-be 25 year-old reliever, his ceiling isn't that high and he was somewhat hittable in Double-A, so Troncoso can be ignored fantasy-wise for the time being. He probably has to leapfrog more than one pitcher this year to see time in the Dodgers bullpen.
