2010

The Orioles picked up Johnson as part of the George Sherrill package, but left him unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft, which allowed the Giants to scoop him up. He is a prospect with plenty of upside following his best pitching lines yet in a nine-start stint at Double-A. The Giants could be thinking of adding Johnson to the bullpen if they are serious about keeping him on the roster all season. However, he'll initially compete for the fifth starter job against Todd Wellemeyer and Madison Bumgarner.
