The Tigers selected Jacobson in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. Jacobson can hit 95 MPH when used in the bullpen, but is three to six MPH below that as a starter, having seen action in both roles in college. He needs polish with his secondary pitches and with his command, and may need more time than the average college pitcher.
