Skelton was Detroit's top catching prospect now that Dusty Ryan is in the majors, but the Tigers left Skelton exposed to the Rule 5 draft in winter, and he was taken by the Diamondbacks. Skelton is an intriguing contact hitter with excellent plate discipline and above average speed for a catcher, but his power is below average and that could prevent him from starting in the majors.
