Don't confuse Hobgood's status as the Orioles' 2009 top draft choice - and fifth overall selection - to mean that he is the next Brian Matusz. He struggled in eight appearances last summer and will need plenty of fine tuning to make it to Baltimore in 2012. The consensus is that Hobgood was an easy sign, so if you are looking for a high school pitcher as a keeper there were some other draftees selected later that could bear more fruit later on.
