2012
A shoulder injury kept Rodriguez from pitching for the big league club after May last season. Given his previous issues limiting the free passes at his minor league stops and that he'll turn 29 in February, there's not much upside here. However, he has recovered from his injury and will challenge for a spot in the Angels’ bullpen during spring training.
2011
Pitching out of the bullpen for the Angels last season, Rodriguez Murillo compiled a 4.37 ERA and 36:26 K:BB ratio in 47.1 innings. He served as both a starter and reliever with Triple-A Salt Lake, but his poor control likely limits his upside as a starter. Rodriguez Murillo will likely compete for a middle-relief role during spring training.
