RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Alex Wimmers.

2011

Wimmers, Minnesota's 2010 first-round draft pick out of Ohio State, had a strong professional debut by allowing one run in 15.1 innings at Low-A Fort Myers with a 23:5 K:BB ratio. He has a 90-93 mph fastball, a good breaking ball and the best changeup in the draft class along with sharp control. He'll likely begin 2011 in Double-A, with a chance to reach the majors as soon as 2012.
