RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2015

There was no outlook written for Steve Edlefsen.

2013

Edelfsen spent most of the 2012 season in Fresno, but also appeared in 14 games for the Giants. The 27-year-old right-hander is a sidearmer who features a sinking fastball that ranges between 88-92 mph along with a slider and changeup. Control issues have plagued him during his minor league career (4.6 BB/9), but he has shown an ability to produce groundballs during his brief tenure in the majors with a 61.9 percent groundball rate for his career. Edelfsen will spend another season in Triple-A, and it is doubtful that he will get much time in San Francisco considering the other Triple-A relievers that have moved ahead of him on the depth chart.
