Inks minor league deal with Giants
Sitton signed a minor league contract with the Giants on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
ANALYSIS
Sitton spent time with the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Mariners in 2016, producing a 2.41 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 52.1 innings between the two levels. The 28-year-old seems to be organizational depth for the time being, although he could move into a LOOGY role at the major league level if injuries strike San Francisco's bullpen.

2015 Fantasy Outlook
Added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster prior to last season, Sitton hardly seemed to justify that appointment as a 26-year-old reliever at the Double-A level. His season numbers didn’t do him any favors either, as he finished with a 3.68 ERA (4.53 FIP), 5.8 K/9 and 3.2 BB/9 over 66 innings with Tulsa, none of which suggest he’s anywhere close to competing at the big league level. Instead, it appears Sitton has earned some praise from the organization strictly on the basis of his potential to become a dominant LOOGY. Over 24.2 innings against same-handed hitters last season, Sitton posted a .167 BAA and 1.78 GO/AO rate. Continued excellence against lefty hitters at Triple-A Albuquerque is essentially Sitton’s only route to the majors at this point, but if any of the Rockies’ failed southpaw starters are able to find success in their conversions to relief, he could quickly become an afterthought in the organization.
