2012
Hyatt went 12-6 with a 3.85 ERA and a 171:49 K:BB ratio in 154.1 innings last season with Double-A Reading. He'll be 26 years old this season so the upside is limited here. He will open the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
2011
Hyatt, 24, was the Florida State League's Most Valuable Pitcher in 2010, going 11-5 with a 3.04 ERA in 21 starts for High-A Clearwater before a promotion to Double-A. He lacks an overpowering fastball, but has good deception in his delivery and locates the ball well. His best pitch is his changeup. The Phillies have asked Hyatt to work on adding a slider to his repertoire this year. Without a third pitch, Hyatt is destined for a bullpen role, assuming he gets to the majors.
