2013
There was no outlook written for Reynaldo Rodriguez.
2012
At 26, Rodriguez isn't really a prospect, but he's making the most of his second chance in the major leagues after the Red Sox signed him out of independent-league baseball in 2009. His bat proved to be more-than-ready for High-A Carolina, but things got a little dicier up a level. He's not very patient and can be fooled by secondary offerings, so he'll need to adjust to the advanced level of pitching he'll see in the Eastern League. Obviously, as a first baseman in the Red Sox organization, there's a ceiling with the name of Adrian Gonzalez on it. If he can handle the pitching in Double-A this season, he could make for a throw-in player in a deal or as a speculative pick in the Rule 5 draft this coming offseason.
