RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Mark Sappington.
A fifth-round pick for the Angels in the 2012 first-year player draft, Sappington pitched to a 3.45 ERA in time split between High-A Inland Empire and Double-A Arkansas last season. Sappington had issues with control in 2013 (4.7 BB/9), but was able to keep the ball on the ground enough to limit damage. The 23-year-old will start 2014 in Double-A, but could move to Triple-A Salt Lake by mid-season if he can improve his command.
