RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2015

There was no outlook written for Nik Turley.

2014

Turley has slowly worked his way up the Yankees' system since his debut as an 18-year-old in 2008. Turley is big and athletic, and while he doesn't throw very hard, he excels at pounding the bottom of the strike zone with his fastball. He also features a plus curve and a changeup that can be excellent at times, but is inconsistent. Turley has consistently struck out about a batter per inning through his minor league career, and is likely to start 2014 at Triple-A. He could be the first pitcher the Yankees turn to if they need a spot starter, and while he doesn't have ace upside, Turley could pitch well enough to stick in the majors.
