Garcia batted .305 with the Yankees last year but never took over the right field spot from Juan Rivera, David Dellucci and a handful of others. The Yankees let Garcia go after inking Gary Sheffield, and as of press time he hadn't found a new team. However, if Garcia can remain healthy, he could be a source of cheap power wherever he signs.
2003
Garcia finally got an extended trial at the major league level with the Indians and hit for considerable power. His lack of plate discipline and propensity to whiff could hold him back. Still, you could do worse than draft Garcia for one of your outfield slots, particularly in an AL-only league.
