2013
There was no outlook written for Brian Boehringer.
2005
Boehringer, who was cut loose by the Pirates, figures to sign a non-guaranteed minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with someone after undergoing shoulder surgery in August.
2004
After a solid 2002 season that prompted the Bucs to sign Boehringer to a two-year contract, he showed the team why he has always been considered a journeyman reliever with a straight fastball. Though he limited left-handers to a .193 batting average (17-for-88), right-handers rocked him at a .309 (47-for-152) clip. He also surrendered a career-high 11 home runs, which tied for third in the league among relievers.
2003
Boehringer joined his fourth team in 20 months at the start of 2002 and just as he did for the Yankees, Padres and Giants, provided solid relief work. Not much upside with Mike Williams around, and be careful: he throws enough fly balls that a bad year is going to mean 15 home runs and an ERA in the 6.00s.
