2013
There was no outlook written for Hector Carrasco.
2008
Carrasco returns to the Nationals organization after a tough 2007 with the Angels. He may not have anything left in the tank, but you could have said the same thing back in 2004 before his amazing career turnaround, so don't be completely shocked if lightning strikes twice.
2007
More valuable to a real baseball team than to yours, Carrasco fills a variety of roles all comfortably described as "low-leverage." He's had the best years of his career at 35 and 36, and is a decent bet for more of the same at 37.
2006
Carrasco was one of the unsung heroes of the Nationals staff in 2005, pitching well in whatever role Frank Robinson put him, whether it was middle relief or the rotation. He turned lightning in a bottle with a two-year, $6.1 million contract with the Angels, but buyer beware -- last season was the first time since 1994 that Carrasco posted a major league ERA below 4.00.
2004
At one time, Carrasco was mentioned as a potential closer. He will now serve as nothing more than a reasonably-priced middle reliever.
