RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Matt Kinney.

2005

Kinney struggled with both the Brewers and Royals last season. He'll try to win a job in the bullpen with San Francisco this spring. Kinney can strike batters out at a decent rate but can't keep the ball in the park. There's still some upside left in him, but don't risk much.

2004

Kinney had a very up-and-down 2003, starting off hot then cooling down, then pitching well to end the season. He'll be given every opportunity to win a rotation spot in 2004 but he will need to do better than the 5.21 ERA he put up last season.

2003

Kinney was acquired by the Brewers in the offseason and will be given a chance to make the team and the starting rotation next spring. He's been up and down with the Twins over the last few seasons. Kinney was once a fairly highly touted prospect, but he struggled in 2002 and had a shoulder injury in 2001.
