Bowie (left forearm) was activated from the 60-day DL on Wednesday and outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
ANALYSIS
He has a 7.36 ERA and 2.18 WHIP in 7.1 Triple-A innings. Those ugly numbers mean that Bowie's Triple-A rehab assignment has turned into a longer stay.

Bowie was yet another soft-tossing lefty press-ganged into service in the Nationals' battered rotation in 2007, and he did a fair enough job until he broke down with hip trouble and a hernia of his own. He'll try to win a spot in Colorado's bullpen this spring and the change in his home park won't help his fantasy outlook.
Journeyman Bowie pitched well as a lefty specialist at both Triple-A and in the Nationals bullpen last season, and will likely return in the same role in 2006. He hasn't had a regular major league job since 1999, but even if he excels as a lefty specialist his fantasy value would be limited.
Continued elbow problems hampered Bowie in 2003, and he's been removed from the A's 40-man roster. The A's liked his work down the stretch in 2002, and are in need of left-handed relief help so a minor-league invite to camp is likely.
Posted a decent season as a late-inning reliever, albeit it at Triple-A, in 2002. Bowie saw limited duty for the A's the last two months of the season.
