RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Ryan Jensen.
Jensen wasn't as good as his 15 wins in 2002. When he got off to a lousy start in 2003, he was lapped by better pitchers like Jerome Williams and Jesse Foppert, and spent most of the year back at Fresno, where he struck out less than one man every two innings. He'll need a new organization to get 15 starts, much less 15 wins.
Jensen delivered wins, if nothing else, at what had to have been a cheap price in 2002, going 13-8, 4.51 in a pitcher's park for the Giants. The Giants will be trying to get Kurt Ainsworth, and maybe Jerome Williams, in their rotation in 2003; check carefully in the spring to see if Jensen keeps his starter's role. If Jensen stays in the rotation, as long as he pitches at Pac Bell and has Barry Bonds on his side, he's worth consideration as a late-round starting pitcher in deep NL leagues.
