2006
Macias can play second, third and all three outfield spots, but he can't hit. He'll try to see how long he can impress folks in Japan before they figure that out.
2005
Macias can play second, third and all three outfield spots, but he hits like a bad backup catcher. Expect manager Dusty Baker to overuse him at the expense of developing young hitters like Jason Dubois and Richard Lewis.
2004
Macias got 272 at bats in 2003, but only because somebody had to. Failing equally at multiple positions isn't most teams' idea of versatility, but it's what passes for bench strength in Montreal.
2003
Returned to the Expos organization and settled into the super-sub role he'll probably have for the rest of his career, playing four different positions. Could open 2003 as the starting centerfielder, but don't expect him to keep it for long if he does.
