Young got a cup of coffee the past two seasons, but his Triple-A numbers leave something to be desired from the former second-round pick. He may earn some spot starts again this season, but a guy wishing he was the Rockies fifth starter has little fantasy value even in NL-only leagues.
A second-rounder out of Stanford in 2000, Young shaved a run off his ERA in his second stint at Triple-A last year. He got a look in the majors last season too and in much the same fashion, there's a good chance that he will improve upon the numbers he posted there. Don't expect miracles, but Young has good enough stats to warrant keeping an eye on.
Young has a real shot to earn a big league rotation spot next spring. One concern - he pitched nearly 170 innings one year after getting shut down with elbow problems.
