2008

You'd be hard-pressed to find another pitcher of Lugo's ability that went 6-0 in 2007. Hidden amongst the rubble is a poor 34:37 K:BB ratio in 48.2 innings. It's hard to see a scenario where he contributes in a healthy A's bullpen.

2007

Lugo parlayed a spring NRI to a job in Tampa Bay's bullpen and turned out to be perhaps their most effective reliever by the end of last season. It's not likely Lugo will get a chance to close, however, and the combination of his low-fantasy-impact role and his low strikeout rate means he'll be of use only in very deep AL leagues.

2003

The spare part in the Devon White/Marquiss Grissom trade with the Brewers. Was dynamite at A Beloit in 2001 but struggled with the promotion to Jacksonville in 2002. This is the level where most pitchers prove themselves or hit the skids. We'll see with Lugo.
