RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Chris Magruder.
Magruder split time between Triple-A and Milwaukee in 2004, serving as the fifth outfielder for the Brewers. He was outrighted to Triple-A this offseason and was invited to spring training. He'll have another chance to make the club as the fifth outfielder, but he doesn't offer much more than that.
Magruder signed a minor league contract with the Brewers in the offseason. He will compete for the fourth or fifth outfielder job in spring training, and could be a sleeper if one of the starters gets hurt.
Baseball Prospectus compares Magruder to Chad Curtis and it's not a bad comparison. Unfortunately, the comparison to Curtis is apt for Curtis' last seasons.
