2005
Corey split the 2004 season between Pittsburgh and Triple-A Nashville, the first to get called up when the Bucs needed an extra arm and the first to be sent down when they didn’t. At 30, he’s no up and comer, but his overhand curve, change and ability to pack and unpack should be just enough to keep him in the mix when injuries hit the Pirates’ bullpen.
2004
Corey saved 30 games with Triple-A Nashville in 2003, but at 29, it's not like he's an up-and coming closer. In fact, after he was called up last season he didn't record any saves, even though the Pirates were scrambling for a closer. His future in the bigs is probably as a middle man, where his overhand curve and change should be just effective enough to keep him employed.
