Kozlowski is the latest Don Gullett reclamation project, claimed off waivers from the Rangers. The timing is right here - Kozlowski had his Tommy John surgery in June 2003. Pitchers generally can return to the mound within a year of the procedure, but they often don't regain their command for at least 18 months.

Kozlowski's 2004 season is in jeopardy following "Tommy John" surgery this past June. He was a solid pitching prospect before the injury, but it'll be 2005 before he can expected to contribute in Texas.

One of John Hart's few good additions was stealing Kozlowski, a big lefty, for Andy Pratt after Pratt was designated for assignment following a 40-man roster snafu. Kozlowski allowed just 28 hits in 52 innings at Double-A, walking 22 and striking out 41 followed by two forgettable starts for Texas in September. The likely scenario has him starting the year at Triple-A, a level he has yet to pitch at, with a possible mid-season promotion to Texas.
