Sadler has signed a minor league contract with Tampa Bay, with a non-roster invitation to spring training.
ANALYSIS
Sadler hit .267/.315/.530 with 21 homers in 93 games in hitter-friendly Round Rock at Triple-A for the Astros in 2008. He'll likely spend 2009 as an outfielder-DH at Triple-A Durham for the Rays, but who knows, if injuries strike or if the Rays can't sign a big bat to play right field, Sadler could sneak his way onto the roster.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2006
2003
The Pirates recalled Sadler in an emergency situation for three games in 2005. He returned to the minors with a major league memory, belting a game-winning homer in San Francisco. The dinger may prove to be the highlight of his career with Pittsburgh, as he wasn't recalled by the team in September. Sadler hit a combined .252 in the minors last year, with 15 homers, 53 RBI and 14 steals. The Pirates rate a number of outfielders higher than Sadler. As a result, his best chance of cracking a major-league lineup may be with another team.
