RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Wes Obermueller.

2006

Obermueller got pounded in Milwaukee in 2005 and was sent down to Triple-A Nashville. He'll get a shot at a long relief spot with the Braves this spring after coming over in a trade from Milwaukee.

2005

Obermueller's chances to stay in Milwaukee took a hit in 2004 when he posted a 5.80 ERA in 118 innings pitched. It's doubtful that he'll get another chance to start but the Brewers may be able to use him in the bullpen. He'll have to compete for a job this spring and nothing is guaranteed.

2004

Obermueller pitched better than his 5.11 ERA in 2003 would indicate and will be given a chance to win a rotation spot in spring training. He needs to cut down on the walks if he wants to improve but his ball has good movement and he could surprise next season.

2003

Injuries and ineffectiveness have marked the career of this former high-round draft choice. He finally pulled things together for a 9-5 record and a 2.90 ERA at Wichita in 2002. Unceremoniously brutalized in two starts for the big club, he'll likely end up in Omaha this season.
