Reyes has shown that he can flat out hit in the minors (.321 career avg.). Though he doesn't get on base at that much higher a clip, he is starting to drive the ball to the gaps more frequently and even swiped 53 bags in 2001. The stolen bases haven't been part of his arsenal for the past couple of seasons, but the speed is still there and Reyes knows how to use it. He'll get an opportunity to showcase those skills in the majors, but his time there will be short-lived if he doesn't learn better control of the strike zone. Major league pitchers have a tendency to send guys who have never drawn 30 walks in a season right back to the dugout and right back to the minors.
