RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Julio Manon.
Manon was released by the Orioles after the 2006 season. He actually was spectacular at Triple-A Ottawa, finishing with 30 saves, a 2.13 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 61:20 K:BB ratio in 50.2 innings. The experiment didn't work so well in the majors, however, as Manon put up a 5.40 ERA, 1.95 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB ratio in 20 innings with the Orioles. He’s unlikely to get a sniff of the majors in 2007.
Manon's strikeout rate was excellent in Triple-A but it didn't hold up after his promotion. It's a moot point now, as Manon was sold to a team in the Korean League for 2004.
Manon is a late bloomer who'll turn 30 in 2003, but he pushed around the kids pretty well in six Double-A starts, and handled himself fairly well as a Triple-A swingman. He could be a cheap bullpen arm for someone, someday.
