When you have a sub-.600 OPS in Double-A, it doesn't matter how good your defense is behind the plate. Inexplicably still on the Reds' 40-man roster.
2006
This is Perez's second year on the 40-man roster for the Reds, but his bat is at least two years away from being major league ready, if he ever attains that sort of competence at the plate.
2005
Although he was added to the Reds 40-man roster this offseason, Perez isn't anywhere near ready for a promotion to Triple-A, let alone the big leagues.
