Stephens pitched pretty well as a swingman for short-season Staten Island in 2005, and while he's not seen as a front-line prospect, he could move up the ladder with a strong performance in 2006.
2005
Stephens is a young righty for whom the Yankees paid half a million dollars to buy out of a commitment to Georgia Tech. They clearly like the 2003 6th-round draft pick's potential, but he's a few years away from helping at the major league level.
