2007
Probably the Giants' best prospect entering last year, Martinez-Esteve hit .272/.324/.446 in 92 at-bats in Double-A before undergoing surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, ending his season. He's only 23 and still projects as a future regular, but he's slow and has very little defensive value. He may best be a DH. His future with San Francisco is unclear and more seasoning in the minors looks likely for this year.
2006
A pure hitter who will draw comparisons to another E. Martinez, "EME" also shares his namesake's lack of defensive value and speed. He'll hit enough to overcome all it. Look for him to be the Giants' first baseman in 2007.
